The Worst Call in the History of Professional Sports:

For anyone who doesn't know, I am an unabashed, die-hard, ruin my day, cry if we lose, Cincinnati Bengals fan.

This past Sunday we lost to the Tampa Bay Bucs and played absolutely awful. Carson looked bad. We only throw the ball to Chad 7 times. I just don't understand the offense right now.

But, that withstanding, the worst callin the History of Professional football occurred this week. Late in the game, the Bucs are losing to the Bengals by 6 with about two minutes left, and

THE REFS CALLED THIS ROUGHING THE PASSER: http://seahawks.aolsportsblog.com/2006/10/15/the-bengals-got-screwed/

Keep in mind. I was watching this game in a bar in Chicago with Bears fans, and even the Bears fans were visibly upset by this call.

So, if anyone's reading this, please post a comment as to how this could be roughing the passer.

Rigoddamndiculous.

no, you're not allowed to tackle the quarterback any more. you have to grab his flags instead, then he falls down and you hold him up because he tied his flags for some ridiculous reason instead of clipping them like everyone else.

so i just watched NFL Network (i love rich eisen) and they had the head of officiating for the league on NFL Total Access, and he addressed that call specifically. basically, he said it shouldnt have been roughing the passer, but rather unnecessary roughness. from where the ref was standing it does kinda look like smith drives the qbs head into the ground, so i can KINDA see why the flag COULD have been thrown. that being said, it didnt really seem like a penalty. and why they declared it roughing the passer is a mystery.
also, what down was it. cuz apparently the qb was ruled down as well, so the fumble never happeneed either...
im saying ill take it because gradkowski is on my fantasy team and michael clayton won me five bucks last year from Chubbs
